Summary: Growth in all or nearly all information technology follows an exponential curve, rather than a linear one. Many tangible phenomena and areas of study are transforming into information technology. If this is right, we’ll see exponential growth in these areas that once followed a more linear curve. And therefore the advances in medicine, some physical sciences and even the transfer of physical objects across great distances will be absolutely astounding in the near term.
Example: 10 years ago, if you wanted to send your friend a song, you had to mail him a physical object. Today, you send an email. What if this could happen with DNA or vaccines or engineering parts that were needed to save lives in a natural disaster? Cool.
