This afternoon Andy Weissman mentioned on Twitter that he got his Phish ticket in the mail for New Years Eve this year at MSG. This got me daydreaming about a lot of fun times I used to have at Phish concerts on big holidays. I was at Halloween ‘95 in Chicago, ‘98 in Vegas, New Years ‘96 in Boston and New Years ‘98 in New York.
But the biggest one of all was December 31, 1999 at Big Cypress Indian Reservation. Phish brought 85,000 people to Florida for a two day millennium festival.
I was in the front row center for a set that went from the evening until sunrise the next morning. I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t have that front railing to hang on to.
